Portsmouth University creates a new emulator

Researchers from Portsmouth University has announced the development of a software emulator capable to run and recognize all computer files from the 1970s through to the present day.
The project called KEEP (Keeping Emulation Environments Portable), has been developed to preserve digital files which may otherwise have been lost.
According the researchers, by 2010 the amount of digital information created worldwide will be equivalent to 18 million times the information contained in all the books ever written. The lost of digital information is widely real.
